ROCK N' ROLL TRIO RELEASE GRUNGY SMASHER

Space Queen started making waves in Vancouver's rock scene with the release of their debut EP. The offering showcased the band as musically explorative, moving from gritty blues influences to 70s space-rock nostalgia. It was clear from the get-go that Space Queen mean business.

Their newest single "Battle Cry" sees the band dive into a much harder sound. The band takes their genre-bending ethics and angelic vocal harmonies and layers them into a thick, grungy, Alice in Chains-like smasher.

"'Battle Cry' is a deliberate, impassioned response to all the misinformation that is spread online without fact-checking," says bass/vocalist Seah Maister. "During normal times the excess noise can be easily ignored, but with the uncertainty and fear of a pandemic, the misinformation can literally kill and it's downright dangerous. We really tried to capture that anger and frustration we were all feeling in both the lyrics and the music of this song."

The band is working on a new EP set for a Fall 2021 release and is already setting itself up as one you don't want to miss. Listen to "Battle Cry" below.
